The Cows Came Running and the Horses Did Too! by Shelly Simoneau has cute illustrations, as well as a good message for children about the importance of listening to your parents.
3 of 5 stars ~I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. "Rise of the Champions Episode 3" keeps you flipping through the pages as Tal faces the consequences for his question in Episode one. It also introduces you to a plan that was laid out by King Solaris weeks earlier upon finding out that Chief Illuminator Hunapo wants the LOGOS room in the castle blocked up.
The excitement continues in "Rise of the Champion Episode Two." While the men search for Tal in the catacombs, the Light Giver, is giving him gifts and his mission at the `Throne of the Light Giver'. Chief Illuminator Hunapo reveals some secrets that help explain more how he came to his high position. And Tal resurfaces.
Again... this episode makes you think. Are you willing to accept your God given call? Will you be willing to stand up for what's right? In Rise of the Champion Episode One, we meet a Tal. He's a scribe that has a burning question he desires to be answered. Although his answer isn't given in the way he thought it would be, the fact the he asked it has brought about the beginning of a change for him. I can't wait to read the next two episodes to find out what his accepted challenge brings his way.
With that being said...the strong spiritual message in this book can make one examine their own lives, thoughts, and decisions. "You Cannot Find Peace Until You Find All The Pieces" is a short but very informative read of the author's search for her father. He left when she was young, and she had a lot of answered questions. The search went on for over 18 years and she fills you in on her own journey over the course of that time. It wasn't always easy. There were hurts, surprises and tough decisions to be made. Although she starts out looking for one man, she ends up find so much more.
3 of 5 stars The Covering by Dana Pratola is action packed, intense, and real. She keeps you wanting to find out more about Tessa and Gunnar and the plans God has for their lives!
5 of 5 stars I had been wanting to get "Mama Needs A Time-Out" by Heather Riggleman for a while. I must say this book is great, and very helpful. Her honesty and willing to share her personal life helps you, as a mama, to see that when your having one of those days when you want run and hide, well, your not alone!
She gives you several different names of God and their meanings and how you can call out on those names, and stand firmly on God's word. 5 of 5 stars "The Decision" by Penny A. Zeller, could be a true story about a lot of marriages today. People being neglected, others not understanding, causing major strains on a long time relationship. But through Andi and Ross, and their decisions, we also see hope. A hope that can be true for any marriage today as well.
4 of 5 stars "77 Ways Your Family Can Make A Difference" by Penny A Zeller, is a book filled with awesome ideas that you and your family can do to reach out and help others in need. Some ideas I had never thought of before like, "Design a Bring-It-Back Box", where you go on vacation, or a trip to the zoo, or the park and find things, or take pictures to put in your box. You take the box to someone who isn't able to go on a vacation for whatever reason. Pretty simple right? All of the ideas are good, and ones that wouldn't be hard to do! So if you're looking for ways to help others,I suggest you read this book. It's worth it.
